6 September 2024 09:00 - 12:00 UTC+7 | | Asia Pacific Commemoration of the 5th International Day of Clean Air for blue skies | Online UNEP and UNESCAP are jointly organizing “Asia Pacific Commemoration of the 5th International Day of Clean Air for blue skies” on 6 September 2024. The event will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok and virtually via videoconference. The commemoration will include "Voices from the Youth" led by UNICEF Thailand and a panel discussion exploring financial strategies and multi-dimensional benefits of clean air investments. Associated events will be organized on 4 and 5 September. On 4 September, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and KOICA Office will have an "Air pollution dashboard donation event to schools." |
19-20 September 2024 09:00 - 18:00 GMT+5 | | Regional Conference for air quality solutions in Central Asia | Almaty, Kazakhstan | Online The third Air Quality Central Asia (AQCA) Platform will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan on 19-20 September, with the aim of uniting regional efforts to improve air quality in Central Asia. A variety of topics will be addressed, including air quality monitoring, sand and dust storms as non-anthropogenic causes of air pollution, the health effects of air pollution, air quality regulations, sectoral responses to air pollution, and nature-based solutions for air quality. A wealth of thirty stakeholders form part of AQCA, including three founding civil society organisations — the Association of Practicing Ecologists (APE) in Kazakhstan, Public Association “MoveGreen” in Kyrgyzstan and the Youth Group for Protection of Environment in Tajikistan. The hybrid online/in-person conference is supported financially and technically by UNEP. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the challenges and success they have experienced and give feedback on planned activities for the coming year to build the Pandora Asia Network and promote cooperation. |
